For individuals with substance use disorder (SUD), employment is an important factor for achieving sustained recovery and financial independence. Helping people in recovery integrate into the workforce should be the coordinated effort of a larger network of key stakeholders working as partners to achieve a recovery-to-work ecosystem. This February, Georgia Recovers invited Brendan Buff and Kathleen Varda to walk audiences through two tools meant to support individuals as they transition from treatment to employment: a recovery-to-work ecosystem builders guide and a recovery friendly workplace employer toolkit. We also had the opportunity to hear from Lauren Wood on the Appalachian Regional Commission's INSPIRE Initiative.
