Patrick's Family Recovery Journey

19 Mar 2024
Community

During one of the most difficult times of Patrick's substance use disorder (SUD), his mom was the person who helped him find the support he needed. His mother, who is also in recovery for SUD, guided him to find effective treatment with people genuinely invested in his recovery. Getting the quality care he needed was an essential first step in Patrick's journey. Nowadays, Patrick works as a sous chef at Georgia Southern University, where he sometimes feeds up to 5000 students a day. It is important for him to live his recovery out loud, and he is grateful for the opportunity to share his story with his kitchen colleagues and other students at Georgia Southern.
